J. Bruce McCahan, CPA
Bruce McCahan was the founding partner of McCahan, Helfrick, Thiercof & Butera Accountancy Corporation. Bruce graduated from San Jose State College in 1958 and a year later received a certificate to practice as a Certified Public Accountant. In 1967 he formed J. Bruce McCahan & Co., CPA which grew over the years to become the firm of McCahan, Helfrick, Thiercof & Butera Accountancy Corporation.
Nearly thirty years ago, Bruce pioneered the field of forensic accounting for litigation. He spent the last twenty years of his business career concentrating in that field before his retirement in 1998. Bruce was greatly respected by his clients and peers for his integrity and fairness.
When not practicing accounting, Bruce enjoyed his hobby of raising and racing pigeons which he had done since in high school. He had great success with his flyers and won races all over the United States and abroad.
Bruce passed away on September 21, 2010, but will always be warmly remembered by all of us who worked with him at MHTB.
